scott walker is awesome. this is from his best cd scott 4. second band was formed for one album only, interesting spanish folk, inspiration to animal collective. little known blues jam by pink floyd. best country song ever, with johnny cash's band. cryptic fake artist that makes neat songs. crazy 16 minute dirge rant. ariel pink song reminded me of sigur ros. a very emotional acoustic number. fuck.

This Angry Silence Episode 24: You Won't Cut Him Down Like He Did It To You

This episode is a very good mix, I say.

00:00 Sun Ra - Saturn
03:03 The Gambees - Beef
06:35 Animal Collective - Banshee Beat (Live Acoustic Herk)
14:37 Dust From 1000 Years - Nothing At All
19:40 Earth - The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull
27:54 NON - The Fountain Of Fortune
33:49 John Maus - Time To Die
37:14 Ariel Pink - Can't Hear My Eyes
40:26 confusions not a kidney stone in my brain

Starting things off with a classic Sun Ra single, not very representative of most of his work but still great. "Beef" is a track by my friend Rafays band "The Gambees", it is unmixed and ripped from myspace so sorry bout the bad sound quality. Next track is an animal collective acoustic track recorded in a tent in france (i think) a few hours after a concert that ended abruptly when the guitarist broke down in tears cause his dad has just died...really emotional. Dust From 1000 years are a band that is virtually unknown, and hey they give away all their cds. Expect to hear more from them in the future. EARTH are a colassal band, they used to play metal drone now they play country drone. NON is boyd rice, this is one of the only good tracks from his snoozer cd "children of the black sun"...john maus is from LA, im iffy about his work but this track grabbed me, it sounds like jay reatard and i like jay reatards music a lot. Can't Hear My Eyes is a track about to be released by Ariel Pink, he is ditching lo-fi, and sorta sounds like John Maus and he's friends with that guy so who knows, q-tip was right when he said things go in cycles.

This episode is a mix of tracks that was completed at least 10 days ago and i was really lazy and didn't upload it on saturday...sorry?

21:01 Bandits At Four O'Clock - Dream Of Dreams
25:00 Wolf Parade - Things I Don't Know (Live 2005)
30:56 John Cage - Electronic Music For 2 Pianos (1964)
41:05 i don't wanna go to war

Alright this episode is late, fuck you. The first four tracks follow a completely arbitrary requirement of having stereo tracked guitars....then an abrupt turn to punk, and more of my rampant ariel pink worship (HES FUCKING AMAZING), a COMPLETELY UNKNOWN 80's band that released a single 4 track cassette demo and that was fucking it. a live review i found online states: "Bandits At Four O'Clock 7.0 PA problems at start. Average sort of band.
After The Party 5.0 Duran Duran-ish. A soulless joke. Tad amusing." i think its a good 80s style track so whatever. alright, next track is amazing. now, get this. wolf parade wrote this in 2005. it is NOT on their new album. they scrapped it. replaced with a bunch of terrible tracks to make up at mount zoomer. seriously this song is fucking amazing i dont understand why it wasn't released...shits fucked. last track is some modern classical (for myke basically)...turn this up, you'll probably get freaked out. It was created by recording two takes of the composed piece, with microphones placed at multiple directions, including a window outside the studio (that explains the chriping sounds)...hope you all liked this trainwreck!

08:15 The Fall - M5
11:48 Talking Heads - The Big Country (Live)
16:57 Ariel Pink - Higher And Higher
20:14 Dr. Dre - The Message (Featuring Mary J. Blidge)
25:44 Kraftwerk - Neonlicht
34:44 Sun City Girls - Charles Gocher Sr.
42:00 places to PARK

Capital Z joked that I would say "This ones coming off viny..." and the first track is of course ripped from vinyl, more specifically from the very rare ween release "The Live Brain Wedgie/WAD"...I think its a neat track. It is also on their first tape, which i can't remember the name of but its not nearly as good as this version. Emperor X is one C. Matheny who lives somewhere in the midwest and makes above average solo albums. Like all solo albums though, they tend to fall off in the second half. A classic STOOGES song...not the overrated tripe like "now i wanna be your dog" or "the last three songs from their first album they wrote in a single day"...just imagine if they had been allowed to make their first album 5 songs in 40 minutes...shit would have been awesome. Now for the fall. I will be the first to admit I'm not a huge fall fan. This song caught my ear, but most of theirs haven't. Eh. Another fantastic track from "The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads." Don't even bother listening to the album version. In fact, don't listen to most talking heads albums cause they weren't that good in studio. Well, "mind" works good in studio and the remain in light album is neato...but their albums are so "calculated" and "repetitive"...and don't get me started on "true stories", cause then i will explain to you just how terrible it is and I wish I didn't waste 50 cents on a cassette of it. Another ariel pink track, I think his songs work best in a mixtape format, especially with his other songs, not as albums so much...a classic dre track...my favorite kraftwerk song from the only kraftwerk cd i have heard except for the hot chip remix snoozefest....and OF FUCKING COURSE a pretentious sun city girls song. Do you really think I can go more than two episodes without including a track by them? Cause I can't.

This episode is a random mix of tracks, more schizo than usual...I just realized I could have been REALLY CLEVER and done each episode of songs based on a letter of the alphabet, with ep 1 being songs starting with A, and ep 26 with songs starting with Z, god that would have been corny, and op magazine sorta did that....meh...

23:06 The Smiths - Barbarism Begins At Home
30:03 Sun Ra - I'll Get By
37:22 John Cage - Dream
46:04 trance thing

lets get this description over with! first track: i think sonic youth are overrated (and i even like that faggy noise crap) but this song is an exception to the rule. girls against boys are an underrated grunge band, most will recognize their song kill the sex player from the movie clerks you may or may not have heard about, i wont hold your feet to the fire over that...its a neat song, cool breakdown. everyone likes the ramones, and i like the demo version of this song better than the released version, cause of the false starts. the dwarves are a punk band that never fails to dissapoint. this song has signifigance to me cause i listenend to it right before i lost my virginity...next track is a classic johnny cash song written by some nutjob in prison who later became sort of famous...soul asylum are an overrated band but this song they did for the credits of Clerks is great...gogol bordello are ALSO overrated but this track kicks it....my second favorite smiths song after "hand in glove"...i loves me some sun ra. just letting you know, most of his stuff isn't this "normal"....and john cage is an example that faggy modern music can still be great...
