scott walker is awesome. this is from his best cd scott 4. second band was formed for one album only, interesting spanish folk, inspiration to animal collective. little known blues jam by pink floyd. best country song ever, with johnny cash's band. cryptic fake artist that makes neat songs. crazy 16 minute dirge rant. ariel pink song reminded me of sigur ros. a very emotional acoustic number. fuck.

Episode 14: Suddenly You've Got Your Shit Together And You Know How To Smile

Welcome to episode fourteen of This Angry Silence! This is a no-bullshit music podcast. You won't hear me drone on about how amazing my music tastes, all you will hear is cool songs from my computer...if you don't like a song choice let me know and I'll plan future shows accordingly.

This episode is a random mix of tracks, with an emphasis on the unsettling qualities of life, whether they be broken relationships, death, transvestites, nights of drinking, life falling apart, and elvis talking to his stillborn half-brother jesse, dreaming about the twin towers collapsing. In that order.

43:40 RAISE THE SPARARARARKS

alright lets start this off, with an amazing NMH track, possibly their best track, possibly the best track ever. the demo version of i wanna be your boyfriend by the ramones is better than the original cause dee dee's background vocals are louder. third power are some obscure as fuck 60s band. guided by voices was started by a school teacher i think. their cd "Bee Thousand" is regarded by a masterpiece, personally i think a few pieces are a bit lacking but this track is pretty swell. big black were a notorious 80s independent band started by staunch asshole steve albini...this track was originally released in a vinyl sleeve featuring a picture of the bloody half-head of a suicide victim. Ouch. "the time" is a track i found looking for tracks for a funk cd for my friend. grand buffet are a "joke" rap duo but they are really good and this track should have been on their greatest hits instead of that bullshit track which has "pitbull" being repeated in the background. wolf parade are from canada, this is from their great second ep, and the first thing i heard by them back in summer 2005, i liked it a lot. scott walker is sort of well known i guess, his stuff is either experimental and dissonant (the drift is a masterpiece!) but this is the folky side of him. it doesn't get better than this. and now, an instrumental from some average 90's emo band, its pretty good. as i've said ariel pink is a genius, listen to this song and try to deny it. the last track is the first track I heard by akron/family. it is their best song so uh, a bad first track to hear by them cause everything else sucks in comparison (don't bother listening to their cd love is simple, its fucking dog mulch up the wazoo cunt).
